the agency
Within the headcanon of my Plumerian universe there exists a sector within the FBI Agency called Sector 9. The majority of FBI agents have no idea that this sector exists, as it's not common knowledge and little discussed. The headquarters of Sector 9 is in Boston, IL and they require all their agents to live within the city.
Sector 9 is special because they maintain only 26 agents, ranging from Agent A to Agent Z. These agents all specialize in something; guns, knives, poison, sniping, etc etc. There can only be one agent of each letter at a time, and new agents are only chosen when the previous one has passed. Retirement is not common in Sector 9, as often they are killed in the line of duty. These agents are frequently lent to other agencies around the world as they are the best there is.
Sector 9 only takes agents if they are at least 25 years old and have spent a minimum of two years in a different sector in the agency. These agents are expected to keep up with changes in their field, including technological updates and techniques. They are required to continue to work on their skill to maintain their position as the best.
The head of Sector 9 is a woman named Chief L. No one knows her real name. She seems very friendly but she manipulates men and women alike with her casual beauty. She hates when her agents don't listen to her but she's developed a soft spot for a number of them, so she occasionally makes excuses for their behavior. (Occasionally.)

agent a
Agent A is always an agent who specializes in small ammunitions and more specifically pistols. (Especially in Ashley's case; a pistol is his preferred weapon.) They're required to be an excellent shot, to be capable of switching between various types of pistols in the blink of an eye. They often make their own ammunition. They're capable of devising new methods of shooting that haven't been seen before. The previous Agent A died in Malaysia on assignment without a set heir, and so Ashley was called in; he has been the current Agent A for near on three years now.

agent i
Agent I is always an agent that specializes in long-distance weaponry, such as sniper rifles or a bow and arrow. (In Blaire's case he vastly prefers bows but uses rifles more often for practical reasons.) They are required to have keen eyesight, good aim; to be capable of using multiple long-distance weapons and be fluid switching between them. They're capable of devising new methods of shooting that have never been seen before. The previous Agent I died about a month and a half ago and Blaire was tapped for his incredible skill with the bow.

agent b
Agent B is always an agent that specializes in blades, in a variety of sizes and lengths. (Jude's preferred weapon will always be a katana or a shorter sword and they carry one of the former everywhere they go.) They are required to be light on their feet and to be able to fight smoothly in close quarters. They're often used as "interrogators". The previous Agent B died messy and young, and Chief L selected Jude for hopes that they would make it a bit longer.

sugarfoot
Bartholomew isn't a part of Sector 9 in the same way the above are. He is more of a financial asset to the FBI and a very important client. He is the heir apparent for a small Germanic country that is rich in oil and jewels and so he has plenty of money to spare; a good deal of this he donates to the Agency in return for his true identity being kept on the down-low among the Americans. His code name is for use over the radios/emails/other communication and he genuinely despises it. (Ashley was the one to suggest 'sugarfoot' in the first place.)

Konstantin is sort of a package deal when it comes to Bartholomew, but Sector 9 does sometimes use them on assignments. They have incredible training in fighting and defense and while not useful on assassination assignments (they draw the line there) they are excellent on political missions, as they have grown up in such an environment. Also very easy on the eyes, and Chief L is not above using looks to get what she wants. Their codename was devised to be used in tandem with Bartholomew's although their personality doesn't fit it much at all.
